“Serendipity”

The First Program offers an extensive after-school program called "Serendipity." Twice each year, the school mails a brochure of after-school classes and activities offered, for a fee, by Dalton faculty as well as outside instructors. Children who take “Serendipity” classes remain at school at dismissal time, play on the roof (weather permitting), and have a light snack before their classes begin at 3:30 pm. Serendipity classes dismiss at 4:30 pm.

Kids Club

Dalton’s extended day program takes place daily from 4:30 until 5:45 p.m. and provides a quiet, supervised environment during which older First Program children can do their homework and younger students can play relaxing games until they are picked up.

Chess Academy

The school hosts the renowned Dalton Chess Academy, led by our Chess Master. The program offers instruction for all levels of ability, from Beginner to Advanced. Dalton students continue to compete and excel in local and national chess tournaments.
