Technology InitiativesThis section of the web site demonstrates specifically how Dalton combines curriculum with innovative software programs to expand and enhance teaching methodologies and curricular offerings. Individual curricular technology initiatives show how computers are used to increase faculty options for addressing different learning styles. In addition, Dalton's New Lab for Teaching and Learning develops programs that bring new dimension - literally and figuratively - to students' comprehension of how various topics fit in to a broader educational or global perspective. "Digital Dalton" might best describe the many ways that Dalton faculty currently uses technology to help create rich, student-centered curricula. Dalton's New Lab for Teaching and Learning provides faculty an opportunity for learning about the various uses of classroom technology to encourage further collaborations of ideas and resources across the divisions and between educators. The New Lab provides students with an array of powerful tools that allows them to focus their energy on problem solving and higher level thinking skills. Interactive multimedia programs and tools, integrated into the curriculum in a differentiated, interdisciplinary, and constructivist way throughout the curriculum, facilitate scholarship and intellectual inquiry.
