What a Night! More than 700 Community Members Celebrate Dalton at Benefit 2022
Thanks to the generosity of community members who attended and supported Dalton’s Annual Benefit on Wednesday evening April 6 at the Ziegfeld Ballroom, proceeds totaled an impressive $775,000 from underwriters, ticket and raffle sales.
We’re grateful to Benefit Chairs Karen Lee, Holly Speyer Lipton ’91, and Arielle Tepper ’90 for helping to make this event a big success. A standing ovation to Artistic Director & Producer Randi Sloan for her creative programming. And hats off to our Benefit Student Art Committee members Gina Dizzia, Melanie Kefalidis Kantor ’99, Carmela Lopez-Baker who coordinated the ingenious K-4th grade student art project made from repurposed toys. Our emcee Rory Boyd played a key role in keeping the program running smoothly, and DJ Miles Francis ’09 kept the dance floor poppin’!
Attendees were well-entertained — including a high energy fashion show with student, faculty and staff models; a Bluegrass Band led by Camellia Hartman ’12; talented middle and high school students in musical theater excerpts; Sweet ’n Low, the HS a cappella group, performed a beautiful song written by Nate Sloan ’04; and a video featured 4th graders sharing their thoughts on sustainability.
Along with a surprise appearance on the catwalk – wearing an exquisite dress sewn from Dalton scarves – Interim Head of School Ellen Stein announced an exciting Annual Fund Match Challenge, and Board President Aly Jeddy, along with past Board Presidents Cheryl Cohn Effron ‘83 and Alan Klein, honored Ellen with the new title of Head of School Emeritus.
