Pointillist Dalton Tiger Displayed on New Art Floor
A group of students from Mira Gelley's New Media 3 class ended the semester by creating a site-specific Dalton Tiger on one of Dalton's new art floors, 10M.
The tiger was created from circle stickers made with a Cameo Vinyl Cutter, a machine that cuts vinyl, paper, and cardboard from digital files created in Adobe Illustrator. The site was strategically selected so that community members would see the tiger as they walked up or down the new communicating stairs between 10, 10M, and 11. The installation took roughly 2 hours to complete, as the four students used hundreds of stickers to construct the image using a projected tiger as a guide.
