Swimming Wraps Up Season at the NYSAIS Championship
Dalton Swimming capped off its season with an impressive showing at the NYSAIS Swim Invitational competing against other New York independent schools. The girls team finished 6th overall and the boys team finished 9th.
On the girls’ team, swimmers broke two school records. The Girls 400 Freestyle Relay team comprised of freshman Jane Cahill ’23, senior Claire Jiang ’20, freshman Kodi Kim ’23, and sophomore Alyssa Fan ’22, finished in third place and shattered the school record by over 3 seconds! Additionally, the 200 Freestyle Relay team with junior Tsering Yangchen ’21, Claire Jiang ’20, Kodi Kim ’23, and Alyssa Fan ’22, came in second place, overall. Among individual competitors, junior Chris Kim ’21 took third place in the Backstroke and Alyssa Fan ’22 finished in third place in the Butterfly. Senior Claire Jiang ’20 finished her career as a record-holder in five Dalton swim records: the 200 IM, the 100 Backstroke, the 200 Medley Relay, the 200 freestyle, and 400 freestyle relays.
