The Work to Move Us Forward

Racial Equity Working Group

A Board of Trustee-established group that is charged with engaging constituencies broadly to move this work forward. This working group will convene pods to address the following areas: student life, parent & family engagement, alumni, Board of Trustees, pedagogy, teaching, & learning, and hiring & retention.

Listening Sessions

Dalton still has much to learn about the experience of BIPOC students, families, and alumni. The administration will continue to engage in listening sessions to hear the concerns of various constituencies. Listening deeply to our community will help us to understand the work that needs to be done.

Faculty Work: Curriculum & Personal Development

The Dalton experience for our students and families is created and facilitated by the Dalton faculty. We must ensure that how and what our faculty teach is inclusive, reflects our diverse student body, and is actively anti-racist.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Plan

The work of becoming anti-racist requires clear actions and accountabilty; achieving this necessitates robust documentation to generate an organizational understanding of how and when to move forward. A plan helps to organize the process, products, and outcomes.
