Pulitzer Prize-Winning Poet Gregory Pardlo Visits Dalton

Pulitzer Prize winning poet Gregory Pardlo taught a Master Class for the Advanced Poetry Writing students and then participated in an event with Coordinator of Creative Writing Program Chris Hood titled "The Third Rail: Writing about Fatherhood and Race."

Students had a rare opportunity to discuss their work and learn new ways of thinking about writing poems. Students also joined faculty, staff, parents, and alums for the evening readings and conversation touching on issues of race, fatherhood, and how the ways we think critically yet lovingly about our forebears may influence the formation of identity in our students.
