Dalton World and Classical Languages Department Announces National Latin Exam 2020 Award Results
All Dalton Latin students in Grades 6-12 convened on Friday, February 28, 2020, to take the National Latin Exam. The NLE, a multiple-choice exam, tests the students’ grasp of vocabulary, syntax and translating skills as well as their knowledge of Roman geography, history, mythology, culture, and institutions.
Each year, over 130,000 Latin students worldwide sit for this exam. Of Dalton's 77 participants, 59 students received awards in this exam:
Gold Summa Cum Laude Award: 24 Students
Silver Maxima Cum Laude Award: 13 Students
Magna Cum Laude: 18 Students
Cum Laude: 4 Students
