HS Seniors Explore Harlem’s Schomburg Center for Capstone Class

HS Seniors enrolled in the History, English, and Music Capstones recently visited the Schomburg Center in Harlem, a New York Public Library (NYPL) research center to explore its collections.
Some students explored the databases and made progress on their individual projects, while others delved into the musical and literary offerings made available to patrons.

After the visit, the Capstone groups went to either Sylvia's or Harlem Shake to enjoy some of Harlem's food offerings before heading back to school.

Faculty supervisors for the Capstones Shira Kohn (History), Bill Solomon (Music), and William Fisher (English) accompanied their students on the trip along with HS Librarian Elaine Levia, who serves as an additional source of research support for all Capstone students.
