Dalton JV Girls Win at Stanford Debate Tournament

Four Varsity teams, and two Junior Varsity teams traveled to the Stanford Forensics (Debate) Tournament on February 7-9 and all but one of the varsity teams advanced to the elimination round, with the JV teams advancing the furthest. The resolution was:  On balance, economic globalization benefits worldwide poverty reduction. Six Dalton competitors won trophies. Congratulations to Grace Isaacman '18 and Ava Crnkovic-Rubsamen '18, who won first place in the Junior Varsity division. Grace Isaacman '18 won third top speaker (the top 10 were ranked) in the JV division. Julia Udell '17 won 10th top speaker (the top 20 were ranked) in the Varsity division.
In addition, JV teammates Laeo Crnkovic-Rubsamen '18 and Oliver Elie Fisher '18 progressed to the quarter-finals. The Varsity Team faired well with impressive finishes: Eloise Ackman ‘16 and Chloe Kimball ‘15 finished in double octos, Davis Haupt '17 and Julia Udell '17 finished in double octos, and Liam Glass ’15 and Julian Freiberg '17 finished in the triple octos.
