List of 3 items.

  • Complete and submit your Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS). -- DUE JANUARY 1, 2019

The PFS for 19-20 is available online at sssbynais.org after October 2, 2018. Take care to report all items as thoroughly and accurately as possible for 2018 and projecting for 2019 (do not simply copy your figures from your 2017 tax return unless there have been no changes since that year).

Be sure to list Dalton (SSS code: 2716) as a school to receive your SSS report. Please note: You need to complete only one PFS even if you have several children applying to Dalton, or to other schools that use SSS.

After online submission of the PFS, you will be prompted to print a cover sheet to accompany your supporting documents (tax return, etc.), if you wish to mail them to SSS, or you may proceed to uploading your documents. Upload is the faster and preferred method.
  • Submit the required supporting documents to SSS. -- DUE JANUARY 1, 2019

Dalton requires the following documents to be submitted to SSS after you complete your PFS:
    • Your most recent (2017) federal tax return (including all applicable schedules & attachments).
    • Your most recent (2017) W-2 and/or 1099 forms.
    • 4506-T form: Complete lines 1-4 and please sign but do not date this form.
    • Any business federal tax filings for the most recent year, if parents are owners/partners of a corporation or partnership.

Upload your documents directly in the “Manage Documents” section at sssbynais.org, or send paper copies to SSS by mail (be sure to include the SSS Cover Sheet, which will be available to you to print after submitting your PFS online).

Special situations may require additional documents:
    • Divorced or separated parents should each complete a separate PFS. Any stepparents should also be included.
    • Single parents should complete and submit a Second Parent Information Waiver Request to Dalton.
    • If you list more than $5,000 in Unusual Expenses, you must submit documentation (i.e., receipts) of the expense(s).
    • If the student applicant earned income and was required to complete a tax return, you must also submit all of the required tax documents for the most recent year for the applicant.
  • Submit 2018 Federal Tax Return (enrolling students only) -- DUE MARCH 1, 2019

If your child enrolls at Dalton and is granted financial aid, your 2018 federal tax return will be required for verification of your grant. If your child enrolls at Dalton to begin in September 2019, please forward this to SSS no later than March 1, 2019. Please note that this means you must have your taxes done early and may not file for an extension. Early submission of tax returns is an ANNUAL requirement for continued financial aid at Dalton.
