Dalton Alums Behind Stanford Hackathon Past and Present

Dalton's engineering and comp sci alums are strutting their coding stuff to provide leadership beyond Dalton's walls and onto college campuses, literally across the country. Recent alums Andrew Milich '16 and Emily Cohen '16 organized Stanford's 2017 Treehacks hackathon, an event for wakeful coders which took place over 36 consecutive hours at Stanford University from February 17-19, 2017.
In a message to Dalton mentor and engineering guru Gordie Campbell, Emily remarked that her Dalton experience to organize last year's *Code Like a Girl prepared her for hosting this event, which attracted 630 participants. Stanford's Treehacks has a deeper Dalton history because of alumnus Russell Kaplan '13, who started the hacking marathon at Stanford when he arrived as a freshman.

*Dalton's Code Like a Girl Conference, branded as bitbybit (breaking the barrier for girls in tech), is our second conference for NYC girls with interests in pursuing technology careers. This year's event will take place on April 30, 2017.
