Music Students Perform in the Honors Jazz Band Concert

Middle and High School Music Teachers Jazz Glenn Makos and David Morgan led Dalton music students to perform in the Honors Jazz Band concert of the Independent School Music Association of NYC. The MS and HS Honors bands were composed of students from multiple independent NYC schools and featured four Dalton students selected from student auditions.
Multiple school music teachers conducted the MS Honors performances. Glenn Makos led the MS Band's opening piece of the concert featuring August Stauffer ’22 on Bass, Joshua Peck ’22 on Tenor Saxophone, Lucas Scott ’22 on Baritone Saxophone and Elize Dracopoulos ’23 on Trumpet. Jazz performer, educator, conductor and composer Dr. Anthony Branker, a former endowed Jazz chair at Princeton University, conducted all the HS Honors performances. Drummer Avi Mehta ’21 represented Dalton in the HS performances.

Thank you to Mr. Makos and Mr. Morgan for spearheading this fantastic opportunity for budding Jazz musicians at Dalton.
