HS Seniors in the Music Capstone class presented final projects in the HS Library on Thursday, January 12, in Dalton’s first-ever Music Capstone Symposium.
Katie Hwang '23, Jake Screiber '23, Henry Spencer '23, Bella Winckler '23, and Jasmine Wynn '23 presented on a range of topics, including American fiddling, video game soundtracks, jazz drumming, Korean music, and Soundcloud rap. The students also participated in a Q&A panel following their presentations.
The symposium, hosted by Music Capstone Advisor Dr. Bill Solomon, continued with a keynote presentation by Professor Nancy Yunwha Rao from the Mason Gross School of Music at Rutgers University entitled "Archives of the Invisible in American Music: Tracing Transpacific Crossing of Chinese Opera."
