Congratulations to Dalton Girls Varsity team soccer Coach Sandy Taylor, who was named 2017 All-New York City Girls Soccer Coach of the Year after leading two consecutive teams to win the NYSAIS Championship. Congrats also to Dalton senior and varsity soccer forward Rain Condie for her exceptional season scoring 22 goals and 8 assists. Her performance earned her a place on the 2017 All-New York City Girls Soccer First Team. Senior Emily Rhodes made All-New York City Girls Soccer Second Team and Liza Katz '20 made All-New York City Girls Soccer Honorable Mention.
According to a recent article published on the News12 Varsity website, Taylor was selected, because he "played an instrumental role to guide a balanced team to back-to-back NYSAIS state championships. The No 2 seed Tigers posted two overtime playoff victories, including the title game by rallying back from a 1-0 deficit late in the second half to win 2-1 in double overtime over Riverdale." Rain was selected for the first team as "The top scoring forward on the Tigers had another big season by recording 22 goals and 8 assists. Condie had the biggest goal of the season by converting a go-ahead penalty kick in the first overtime to power Dalton to the NYSAIS state title."
