Dalton Tiger Report: 4/30 - 5/4
Dalton Softball is having an excellent season with a 6-3 record in their first nine games. They are currently in second place in the Ivy League after an exciting comeback against Riverdale. Trailing in the bottom of the 7th, Dalton scored 5 runs to tie the game. Dalton held Riverdale scoreless in extra innings before finally breaking through when Lulu Saghie ’19 hit a walk-off single RBI for the winning run in 10 innings.
Earlier in the season, the Tigers rattled off five consecutive wins and four victories within the league, including defeating defending NYSAIS champion Fieldston in a thrilling 13-11 game on April 13. The victory over Fieldston was their first in recent history.
The team has seen strong performances this year by the group of senior captains - Alison Comite, Zoe Fleishaker, Gabrielle Furman, Jesse Grayson, and Ashley Lewis - in addition to great contributions from many of the younger players on the team. Dalton is currently in second place in the Ivy League with under two weeks left in the regular season. The team hopes to finish out the remaining slate of games in a strong fashion in preparation for the NYSAIS tournament.
