Boys Basketball
The Varsity Boys Basketball team is off to an excellent 4-0 start to the season. After wins over Grace Church, Packer Collegiate, and Friends Seminary, the team faced its biggest test of the season against Rye Country Day School. Dalton got out to a flying start and led 29-15 midway through the second quarter, but Rye Country Day mounted a furious comeback, tying the game at the end of the third quarter. Dalton held old paced by 29 points from junior Mark Engel, and 15 points from junior Sean Ryan to lead Dalton to an 82-80 overtime victory. This win rounded off a perfect start to the season, as they take on defending state champion Fannie Lou Hamer on Monday and start league play on Wednesday at home against Hackley.

Squash
The Varsity Squash team won their first match of the season against Riverdale on Wednesday. The team secured a 6-1 victory with key wins from freshman Max Menin and senior Ethan Hellman. This victory lived up to the team’s incredibly high standards, as they to compete for a league title. Senior and captain Jonah Eick said, “It’s good to have a positive start to the season. Hopefully, we can carry this momentum through the coming weeks, as we have some big games coming up.” The team next plays Horace Mann on Friday, December 14.
