Boys Basketball
The Boys Varsity Basketball Team is off to a great start to their season with a 10-2 overall record. Their first test of the week came against Dwight, one of the strongest NYSAIS teams in the city. After a back and forth affair, the Tigers prevailed with a 50-48 victory including clutch free throws from senior captain Koby Bernstein. Junior Peter Haas hit a three-pointer with under a minute left to give the team a lead that they never relinquished. The team got back into league play with a comfortable win against Fieldston, which left their final game of the week against Trinity at their homecoming on Saturday. Both teams entered the game 3-1 in the league. Dalton dominated the game from start to finish with a 67-41 win. The team is looking forward to two more league matchups this week with a game against at Horace Mann on Monday, January 14 and at Collegiate on Wednesday, January 16.

Girls Basketball
The Varsity Girls Basketball Team had another great week coming off winter break winning three games this week. On Monday, the team dominated Loyola 62-17. Then, as they returned to league play, they beat Fieldston on Wednesday 47-16. Their final game came against Trinity on Saturday at Trinity’s homecoming. The Tigers hit 12 three-pointers, including 5 from senior captain Charlotte Leone. After taking a 23-4 lead in the first quarter, Dalton never looked back, defeating Trinity by a 58-26 score. The victory improved the teams record to 10-3 overall and 3-2 in the league. The team's next matchup is against a tough Columbia Prep team at home on Wednesday, January 14.

Indoor Track
The Varsity Indoor Track Team had its third meet of the year at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island. Led by senior captains Illana Cuello-Wolfe and Elijah Henderson, the team has performed well and had high expectations for the meet. Several members of the team had excellent performances, including a second place finish for junior Ari Eaton in the 1000 meters. Additionally, junior Ravi Eaton and Nick Firestone had strong performances finishing fifth in the long jump and shot-put respectively. The team next competes on Monday, January 14 at the Armory Track.

Wrestling
The Dalton wrestling team had a good showing this weekend at the 2019 David Sorensen tournament at Long Island Lutheran. Jamaal Spence and Aidan Shepardson both performed well with 4th place finishes, as well as John-Shaw Moazami with a 2nd place finish. Leading the way was Elie Farah who won the tournament while being voted by the opposing coaches as the Most Outstanding Wrestler.
