Girls Basketball Travels to DC for National Showcase

The defending NYSAIS State champions were one of 165 teams from across the country to participate in the national showcase event.

The team's first game was against Georgetown Visitation, one of the top teams in the DC area. The two teams battled in the first half, with Dalton coming back from an early deficit to cut the lead to four in the second quarter. Visitation pulled away in the second half, winning 58-38.

In the second game of the showcase, Dalton took on Archbishop Carroll, the reigning Philadelphia Catholic League champions. The two teams traded baskets with seven lead changes over the first three quarters. Dalton shut down Carroll in the 4th quarter, outscoring them 16 to 2 in the 4th quarter to win 41-28. During the game, senior Mary Ashley Groot '23 surpassed the 2,000-point milestone of her Varsity career.
