Cross Country begins season at the Regis Invitational
The Dalton Cross Country team participated in the Regis Invitational on Saturday, September 17, competing against some of the top schools in the area at the Regis Invitational.
The Girls Varsity, last year's NYSAIS State Champions, finished third overall behind East Islip and Bronxville, two of the top schools in the state. Dalton's top six runners all finished in the top 30 overall.
Junior Naomi Gomel was the first Dalton runner to cross the line, coming in 7th out of over 150 runners. Senior Ciara Balanza was next placing 11th overall and breaking the 17-minute mark for the first time in her career in the 2.5-mile race. The Tigers finished their scoring with senior Sofia Gulati in 23rd, junior Zoe Lester in 25th, senior Ali Agosta-Lyon in 29th, and junior Annika Jha in 30th.
On the Boys side, senior Luke Rostan and junior Nick Freund finished in the top 25, with the team placing 7th overall.
