First Program Celebrates Our Diverse Families at FP Multicultural Festival

This year’s FP Multicultural Festival delivered a familiar environment of creativity, inclusiveness, and high spirits as families gathered to learn about the many rich cultures and traditions that make up the Dalton community.
The event reflected our talented, diverse, and engaged community, where so many groups – parents, students, faculty, staff, relatives, and friends came together to prepare and produce this celebration of cultures.

Little Dalton miraculously transformed into 22 cultures: African American, American, Brazilian, Canadian, Caribbean, Chinese, Filipino, Greek, Icelandic, Indian, Irish, Italian, Jewish/Israeli, Korean, Mexican, New Zealand, Persian, Peruvian, Puerto Rican, Russian, Turkish, and West African.

As FP families navigated the festival through the colorfully decorated 91st Street facilities, including our very own "Center Stage," they marveled at the diverse representation of cultures and enjoyed hands-on arts and crafts, viewed cultural exhibits, and witnessed some amazing live performances (including one from our head of school!)

A special thanks to Dalton’s Multicultural Festival Committee, the First Program Faculty and Staff, Student Volunteers, and the Parents Association for creating a spectacular celebration of Dalton’s diverse community.
