Activist Alok Vaid-Menon Joins HS Assembly for Solidarity Week

Activist, Educator, and Artist Alok Vaid-Menon met with the high school community during our Solidarity Week Assembly on Wednesday, October 7.
Students, faculty, and staff engaged in a positive and meaningful discussion that centered gender non-conforming and non-binary identites and experiences.

“I seriously took so many notes...learned so much,” commented Director of Library and Information Services Christy Payne. “And the energy--the positivity--was incredible!”

Following the assembly, students gathered in House on Thursday morning to discuss their thoughts and deepen their understanding of gendered experiences. HS students can order a copy of Alok’s book, Beyond the Gender Binary, using this form by Tuesday, October 13!
