Lucy Schell '26 Earns USA Lacrosse All-American Honors
Dalton senior Lucy Schell ’26 has been named a USA Lacrosse All-American, one of the highest honors in high school lacrosse. The recognition is awarded to student-athletes who exemplify exceptional skill, game sense, and sportsmanship while ranking among the top players in their region.
A five-year varsity player and team captain since her junior season, Schell leaves Dalton as one of the most accomplished student-athletes in program history. Committed to continue her lacrosse career at Middlebury College, she concluded her Tigers career as the school's all-time leading scorer with 268 goals and 58 assists.
Although naturally a low defender, Schell selflessly moved to midfield for Dalton and excelled in one of the most demanding positions on the field. Her versatility, athleticism, and leadership were instrumental in guiding the Tigers to a 9-5 record and a berth in the NYSAIS playoffs this spring.
Schell's senior season was among her best. In 14 games, she recorded 80 goals, 10 assists, 51 ground balls, 27 caused turnovers, and 33 draw controls while consistently impacting every area of the game. A four-time First Team All-Ivy selection, Schell was recognized throughout her career for both her performance and leadership, helping define one of the most successful eras in Dalton Girls Lacrosse history.
The Dalton community congratulates Lucy on this well-deserved recognition and looks forward to following her continued success at Middlebury College.
