At Dalton, parents are essential partners in shaping a school community that is warm, inclusive, and deeply connected. From the very beginning, families are welcomed into the rhythm of school life — whether it's gathering for Divisional class coffees, volunteering for a beloved school tradition, or joining one of the many committees through the Parents Association.
The connection goes far beyond just staying informed; it's about belonging to a diverse community where every family helps strengthen the fabric of school life. Parent involvement at Dalton is not a one-size-fits-all. There are many ways to engage and what matters most is the spirit of partnership, which students feel and carry with them.
This spirit of collaboration reflects Dalton's belief that education is most powerful when families and educators walk the journey together — grounded in trust, mutual respect, and a commitment to every child's growth.

Academic and Experiential Learning
Share your expertise as a guest speaker, panelist, or workshop leader. Volunteer to chaperone field trips or lend a helping hand in school activities or beloved traditions, such as Greek Fest. -
Parenting Adolescents Workshop Series
Attend Middle School workshop series with fellow parents to explore common themes of adolescence. -
Parents Association
Volunteer opportunities range from organizing school-wide and grade-specific activities, events to welcome new families and celebrations, community service opportunities, and much more. -
Community and Cultural Events
Celebrate holidays and cultural traditions through classroom visits or during school-wide programs and join parent-led affinity groups. -
Athletic and Arts Events
Cheer on the Tigers on the athletic fields, take in student performances or art exhibitions, or participate in Family Fun Day - a day-long, school-wide celebration of community and school spirit. -
Divisional Coffees
Connect with fellow parents at quarterly grade-level coffees with Division Directors and administration. -

Stay informed with “Parenting in the Digital Age” workshops featuring age-appropriate technology guidance. -
