Dalton Girls Demonstrate Strength and Skill at the NYS Girls Chess Championship

Last weekend, the Dalton Girls Chess Team participated in the New York State Girls Chess Championship.
Our team was composed of 21 players competing across the K–1, K–3 Primary, K–3 Under 600, K–6 Elementary, and K–8 Under 1000 sections.

Chess in New York State is exceptionally competitive, and our girls rose to the challenge, playing strong games, supporting one another, and learning invaluable lessons along the way.

Our coaching team included High School student Whitney Tse ‘29, who did a magnificent job, along with experienced chess coach Adia Onyango and Head Coach WIM & National Master Beatriz Marinello.

Congratulations to all 21 girls — including three Kindergarten students — for their excellent participation and sportsmanship!
