We are thrilled to share the exciting news from last weekend's 58th Annual New York State Scholastic Championships in Saratoga Springs.
50 Dalton students attended and demonstrated incredible focus, strategic thinking, and sportsmanship while competing against top players from across the state.
Our coaching team included Lenny Kadishev, NM Jerald Times, Adia Onyango, Alex Kure, GM Djurabeck Khamrakulov, and Head Coach WIM & NM Beatriz Marinello.
The Dalton team competed in the K-1 Under 400, K-1 Championship, K-3 Under 800, K-5 Under 600, K-3 Championship Primary, K-5 Championship Elementary, K-5 Under 1400, and Middle School Championship sections.

During this chess-filled weekend, Dalton Program Director, Woman International Master and National Master Beatriz Marinello, was inducted into the 2026 New York State Chess Hall of Fame! This prestigious honor recognizes not only her outstanding achievements and contributions to the world of chess but also her lifelong dedication to teaching and mentoring the next generation of players. We are incredibly fortunate to learn from WIM and NM Beatriz Marinello and congratulate her on this well-deserved recognition!
