Boys DTW Dancers See Herve Koubi Company
This spring, nine Middle School boys elected to participate in a special performance project that will be part of the annual Dance Theater Workshop concert taking place May 13 through 16.
Last month, members of the cast took a field trip to The Joyce Theater to see the Hervé Koubi Dance Company perform their work Sol Invictus. Herve Koubi Company incorporates contemporary dance, hip-hop, capoeira, and gymnastics into its work. The students were impressed and inspired by the exciting and highly physical performance.
The Middle School boys cast consists of Liam Roso ‘31, Caidan Gaspar ‘31, Landon Brady ‘30, Kamil Wood ‘31, Daxin Zhu ‘30, Saarim Khan ‘31, Doc Sanneh ‘31, and Arav Stohr ‘31. They were joined that evening by Magnus Speyer ‘31, parent volunteer Banu Roso P’26, P’31, and chaperones Music Department Co-Chair Bill Solomon, and dance faculty member & DTW boys’ piece choreographer Blake Pearson.
