A Fantastic Afternoon at the Dalton K-1 Chess Friendly
Our youngest players took center stage as 52 enthusiastic kindergarten and first grade players came together for an afternoon of strategy, fun, and sportsmanship.
Led by NM, WIM, FT, Coach Beatriz, the event focused on nurturing a love for the game in a supportive, low-stakes environment.
Adding to the community spirit, older Dalton chess players stepped up as tournament directors, guiding today’s players through their pairings, moves, and post-game handshakes with patience and care. The friendly wrapped up with well-earned trophies, big smiles, and excitement for future games.
Congratulations to all our K-1 participants and a huge thank you to the student volunteers and the parent coordinators for making the event a great success!
