Architecture Students Visit Moshe Safdie Exhibit

Beginning Architecture students saw the Moshe Safdie Exhibit at the National Academy. The students studied Moshe Safdie's work and went to see the exhibition to continue their research, and to present in front of the architectural models. The students will utilize their research to embark on a laser cut modular design assignment, inspired by Moshe Safdie's designs.
Moshe Safdie is a world renown Israeli-Canadian architect who studied under architect Louis Kahn. He is most famous for designing Habitat 67, a modular housing complex, in Montreal for the World's Fair (his thesis project at McGill University). He went
on to design all types of projects all over the world - many of which have bold and expressive geometries and utilize modular forms - including projects in Jerusalem and Singapore. He was awarded second place for his design for the Pompidou Centre Competition in Paris - and there is a model on view at the museum. The exhibition is comprised of Moshe Safdie's drawings and models that illustrate his designs and structures - including works that are built, under construction and unbuilt.

The National Academy's exhibition is free to enter.

The show closes January 10.
