Dalton Robotics Helps Set World Record at Brooklyn Tournament

It was a busy weekend for Dalton Robotics.  All five high school robotics teams participated in NYC regional tournaments, two on Saturday and three on Sunday.  This year's challenge involves designing a robot that could collect balls and launch them several feet in the air into goals. In the end, Atomic Theory teamed up with Robocracy from Yorktown Heights, PA to win the tournament and set a new world record for points scored in the process.
At the Saturday tournament, Team 4174 Atomic Theory and Team 11453 Uncertainty Principle both went undefeated in the qualifying matches and ended up being ranked 1 and 2 at the start of the playoffs, which were a 2 vs 2 format.

On Sunday, Team 9372 Standard Model extended their undefeated winning streak through the qualifying matches and earned the number 1 seed in the playoffs.  They chose another Dalton team, 6051 Quantum Mechanics, as their partner and together won the tournament without losing a single match.  Team 9371 General Relativity was close behind as the number 2 seed, but lost in the first round of the playoffs.

Please join us in congratulating our students on their accomplishment and wishing them luck at the NYC Championship!
