Dalton Junior Wins MIT Inspire Award for History Research Project

Ema Schumer ’18 was awarded second place in the History category in the MIT Inspire Contest, a national high school research competition in the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. She was recognized as a finalist for her research paper on the historical scholarship of the effects of the Dreyfus Affair, which she wrote in her sophomore year Topics of World History II course with Ms. Stolper Muenz.
As a finalist, Ema was invited to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts, along with 104 other finalists, from April 10-12, 2017  to present her research to judges who are distinguished in the field (including department chairs, professors, and graduate students). 

MIT INSPIRE, an acronym for Inspiring the Nation’s Students to Pursue Innovative REsearch, includes 13 categories: Anthropology; Comparative Media Studies; Art and Architecture; Cultural Studies; Economics; History; Linguistics; Literature; Philosophy; Political Science; Music Research; Science, Technology and Society; and Women’s and Gender Studies.
