Joint Schools Activities & School Socials Committee of New York is an independent association serving seventeen independent schools and represented by parent volunteers appointed by the respective PA and PTA Presidents.
The Dalton PA Joint Schools Committee is dedicated to providing coeducational social activities for Middle School and High School students in warm and safe environments. This approach provides opportunities for boys and girls to get to know each other in social settings that minimize social pressures. The committee Chairperson appoints grade representatives for Middle and High School who assist in organizing supervised events and activities which are grade-appropriate. These supervised events support local charities and promote viable alternatives to other evening and weekend social activities for girls and boys. The Joint Schools Activities Committee, via the Dalton committee Chairs and the appointed committee Grade Representatives, distributes a calendar of events and suggested guidelines for social functions to each school. The members of this committee work to address the social needs of students in a positive and productive way.
