The Safety Committee works with and through administration to ensure a safe community environment for children and families, faculty, and staff. The committee organizes the Dalton Parent Safety Patrol by designing community patrol routes and coordinating these routes with other schools in the neighborhood. Parents have an obligation to walk the patrols and are assigned dates each year. The Safety Committee develops and implements an annual Community Safety Assembly directed to parents, students, members of Dalton Administration, and the Dalton Security Department; representatives from the 19th Precinct of the NYC Police Department are invited to participate. The Safety Committee also addresses general issues of personal safety and works with administration to maximize the security of the Dalton community and its environment.
