Kindergarteners learned to celebrate community service by baking and delivering corn muffins for a Thanksgiving feast at the Church of the Heavenly Rest.
Kindergartener Houses got busy measuring flour, mixing ingredients, and stirring batter to make these delicious batches of Thanksgiving treats. After a quick flavor test to make sure they tasted as good as they smelled, students decorated paper bags with their favorite turkey drawings and packaged over three dozen muffins. Later, students were guided over to Dalton's neighbor, the Church of the Heavenly Rest, where they delivered the muffin bags which will be served at a community dinner for the less fortunate.
Through this annual, grade-wide project, Dalton students experience first hand what the spirit of Thanksgiving is all about: community, generosity, and kindness.
