The votes have been tallied, and the winners of the Dalton Award for outstanding illustrations in a children's book are:

Kindergarten: What if..., by Samantha Berger and illustrated by Mike Curato
First Grade: Ocean Meets Sky, by the Fan Brothers
Second Grade: Hello Lighthouse, by Sophie Blackall
Third Grade: The Prince and the Dressmaker, by Jen Wang

This afternoon, the American Library Association (ALA) announced the winner of the real Caldecott Award. The prestigious prize went to author/illustrator Sophie Blackall for her stunning book Hello Lighthouse. Students were delighted to hear Sophie Blackall, who visited Little Dalton in November 2017, win this great award.
