Class of 2023 Bands Together at the Annual 9th Grade Retreat
The start of the school year is a time of exploration. For the Class of 2023, that exploration started at Dalton’s annual 9th Grade Retreat at Brant Lake Camp, accompanied by the Peer Leaders, Mountain Workshop team members, and Dalton chaperones.
On their three-day trip to the tranquil Adirondacks, 9th graders enjoyed canoeing, raft and catapult building, and other creative challenges designed to promote learning, growth, and collaboration. Through these experiences, students made new connections with classmates and worked together to achieve a common goal.
Ninth graders also engaged in large and small group discussions about the transition to High School (what they are excited about and what they are apprehensive about), the many resources and opportunities at Dalton, and the importance of balance, time management, and self-care, and self-reflection.
Thank you to the following faculty and staff members for volunteering their time and guidance to another wonderful retreat: Kieran Raines, Michael Forbes, Nick Lechich, Judy Calixto, Rashaad Philips, Lillian Redl, Shahar Atary, Juliet Baker, Lynn Riggio, Nicole Ciccone, Terrill Caplan, Christy Payne, and Blake Pearson.
