The first week of school is always a time of "firsts" -- new classes, planners, schedules, school supplies, teachers, and classmates. This week was especially exciting at 89th Street where students enjoyed checking out Dalton's brand new facilities.
As students climbed the staircases, they explored the incredible results of Dalton's historic building project. Along the way they discovered:
The 4th floor - With the new library open for business, students have ample space for both quiet and collaborative study.
The 11th & 12th floors - In between conducting science experiments and testing hypotheses, students can study in cozy, new nooks at the Science Center.
The 13th floor - Students are happily settling into the new home for engineering with tools such as 3D printers, laser cutters, shop tools, and a brand new competitive robotics field. These floors also include classrooms for architecture and woodworking -- along with walls that come up and down, as needed.
The 14th floor -- Beautiful glass classrooms with moveable walls, a greenhouse skylight with hydroponic plants, and a big, modern nutritional kitchen -- with fresh bread baked daily!
