High School Students Serve Thanksgiving Dinner to Senior Citizens
High School students volunteered to serve, sing, and spend quality time with members of the Carter Burden Network in Dalton’s annual Thanksgiving dinner.
For the seventh consecutive year, senior citizens gathered in the 89th cafeteria as Dalton students and food services team prepared a lovely autumn feast. More than 40 guests arrived at the school from the Carter Burden Network, a non-profit organization that offers arts, culture, and many other worthwhile programs to promote the well being of seniors age 60 and over.
As they sat and mingled, seniors enjoyed a full Thanksgiving meal including turkey, gravy, stuffing, green beans, sparkling cider and, of course, sweet potato pie for dessert! After dinner, Dalton’s acapella group Alabanza performed two of their newest songs to the delight of their guests.
Thank you to our student volunteers, food services team, and faculty members Doug Berns and Yom Fox for making this event possible!
