Important Update: Grades K-12 – Message from Jim Best – 3/10/20
Dear Dalton Community,
We've just received word that a member of our faculty/staff is being tested for COVID-19. As we await the results, we're canceling classes and activities on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of this week. Click the title (above) to read more...
Today, we'll dismiss our classes at the normal time. Serendipity and Encore! will remain in session, but please pick up your child as soon as you can. All other after school activities and athletics are canceled. Please click on the following links for division-specific dismissal information:
Tomorrow, we'll thoroughly clean and disinfect our buildings. Teachers will use Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday to prepare for remote learning (location and specifics TBD). This collective work will ensure that we'll be organized and ready to launch Digital Dalton after Spring Break, if necessary. I'm grateful to our faculty and staff who continue to inspire our students and prioritize their growth and learning in unpredictable circumstances.
We'll keep close tabs on state and city departments of health to make sure we're taking all necessary public safety measures. We encourage families to limit travel over break, especially those areas with outbreaks of COVID-19.
We understand that this schedule change will cause inconveniences for families. Please know that our focus is on caring for our students, families, faculty, and staff. The past few weeks have been fast-moving, and I thank you for your supportive messages, thoughtful feedback, and offers of assistance.
We've always been—and will continue to be—compassionate, resilient, and adaptable. At Dalton, we rise together to meet adversity—and we do so by caring for each other, by being kind, and by going forth with determination and optimism.
