House 41 Creates Virtual Restaurants

Over the last few months, first graders in House 41 have been learning about restaurants and cuisine from around the world.

This past weekend was the grand opening of the students’ remote restaurant called the “Global Cuisine Café,” which featured 22 different cuisines. Students were assigned a country to research and feature in their remote restaurants. The students held multiple roles at the restaurant including manager, server, chef, busser, and host. They created their own menus consisting of a prix fixe meal that included an appetizer, entree, and dessert. The meal cost $5 a person, and the children with their families chose a charity to donate the proceeds. The Global Cuisine Cafe was a huge success and brought families together during this challenging time.
