The opportunity to join almost 200 New York female chess players is an important annual event for Dalton girls — in addition to competing in other National and State events with the coed Dalton chess team.
 
The girls continued their history of terrific performances with the K-1 Championship team winning 1st place, the K-3 Championship team taking 4th place, and the K-3 Under 600 team garnering 1st place in their respective sections. Under the coaching guidance of Beatriz Marinello and Adia Onyango, Dalton girls showed their focus and competitive spirit.
 
It has been wonderful to continue expanding the presence of girls in chess, especially in the younger section where we had another record participation in the First Program teams! Below you will find information on Saturday Chess Classes and Sunday Chess Tournaments being held in Trimester 2. We hope to see you there! 

Saturday Chess Classes 

The Saturday chess classes will be held every Saturday except for holiday weekends. Drop-in Learn & Play! Please see below for additional information:

• Chess 1 and 2 with Beatriz Marinello & Epah Jere from 9:00-10:30 AM
• Chess 3, 4 and 5 with Beatriz Marinello and Epah Jere from 10:45 AM-12:45 PM

Sunday Chess Tournaments
 
The Sunday Chess Tournaments are open to Dalton Students and siblings. Please see below for additional information:

• Sunday Practice Chess Arena at 10:00 AM (Open to all)
• Sunday Super Swiss at 10:00 AM (Intermediate/Advanced Levels)
• Location: Dalton Team Room at Lichess.org (No zoom required)
