HS History Teachers Highlight Dalton Food-Based Environmental Education
Dalton High School History Teachers Mila Ott Tewell and Kevin Slick contributed a chapter to the latest edition of Teaching and Learning in Urban Agricultural Community Contexts.
The duo began work on the project six years ago, and after many delays, their work was published in this summer’s volume of the text. Their chapter, entitled, “Forging the farm-to-school connection: Articulating the vision behind food-based environmental education at the Dalton School," is a survey of the previous and current work occurring at the School.
Describing their work, Kevin says, “Revising the chapter provided an opportunity for us to feel grateful for the ability to engage in this kind of work in such a supportive environment.”
