Bestselling NY Times Author Jason Reynolds Shares Writing Journey with Dalton Community
Jason Reynolds, a #1 New York Times bestselling author, shared his writing journey and life lessons at HS Assembly, MS Divisional Lab, and with all faculty and staff this week.
At HS Assembly and MS Division Lab this week, Jason fielded student questions and discussed his path to becoming a writer. Then, on Wednesday afternoon, he joined University of Southern California professor and author Christopher Emdin and Interim Director of DEI Yom Fox for a conversation with the Dalton faculty and staff.
Jason is known for his young adult and middle-grade audience novels and poetry. His award-winning book Look Both Ways: A Tale Told in Ten Blocks earned critical acclaim including a National Book Award finalist, a Carnegie Medal, and was named one of the best books of 2019 by NPR, The New York Times, School Library Journal, and others.
Look Both Ways is composed of interconnected stories, each centers on a different student from the same school and what happens after the dismissal bell rings, brilliantly reminding readers to look at our surroundings more closely and notice all the things that connect us to our communities.
