Led by Mandarin Teachers Cindy Wu and Liqi Semenov, students explored downtown Flushing and even ordered their own bubble tea in Mandarin! Following the local tour, the students enjoyed an all-you-can-eat hot pot, a first for many of the students.
The field trip ended with a scavenger hunt in a mall where students checked out Chinese groceries in the supermarket and the Chinese food court. At last, the scavenger hunt winners won a box of pastries from a Chinese bakery.
The two-day field trip proved to be a fun and immersive language and cultural experience!
