José De Jesús Welcomes Faculty & Staff to the 2022-2023 Academic Year
Dalton's faculty and staff gathered in the Martin Theater at 89th Street with Head of School José De Jesús on Monday, August 29, for the annual opening meeting.
José warmly welcomed faculty and staff and talked about his priorities for the upcoming year, including a focus on bringing the community together. José talked about serving the vision of the Dalton Plan — which he described as a “clear student-centered blueprint” — and outlined school-wide goals for the year, included in the Welcome Message sent to families last week.
In an annual tradition, attendees celebrated faculty and staff in milestone years. This year, instead of the Head of School providing the tributes, faculty and staff members spoke on behalf of colleagues who have completed 20+ years of service to the school, including House Advisor Judy Geller ’51, who reached her 65th anniversary working at Dalton!
José said that he’s excited for his first year as Dalton’s Head of School and is looking forward to reaffirming and recommitting to what makes Dalton special.
