Beginning in April, 8th Graders began a three-part Washington, DC seminar series incorporating curriculum work across English, Social Studies, and House — including discussions about Civil Rights, Antisemitism, and U.S. monuments.
Students enjoyed visits to the National Museum of African American History and Culture, Capitol Hill to meet staff members of a NY Congressman, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, and War Memorials, among many other sites. They found time to reflect at the National Mall, explore the Georgetown neighborhood, and even catch a baseball game!
After a four-year hiatus, students were excited to deepen their learning while coming together as a grade to close out their Middle School chapter!
