Outside/In Dance Concert Bridges Dalton Dancers and Guest Choreographers
On November 15th the Dalton High School Dance Department presented our inaugural Outside/In concert featuring three professionally choreographed pieces and an improvisational dance set supported by Ensemble Clave, one of the HS jazz groups.
Our department was excited to be working with 3 NYC choreographers ("outside") who we welcomed ("in") to the Dalton community. Collaborating with these professionals allowed our dancers to engage with a wide array of dance styles and choreographic approaches. We also were jazzed about finally using our Dance Studio as a performance space for the first time, helped considerably by Charlie Foster (with the able assistance of Coby Kramarsky '23) who created our lighting. Given the enthusiasm from the packed houses, we hope that this will be an annual event for the Dalton community.
