Second Graders have been exploring the history and culture of Harlem as part of their Social Studies unit on NYC neighborhoods. House 21 walked through Central Harlem to learn about cultural and historic sites such as the Malcolm Shabazz Harlem Market, Graham Court, Marcus Garvey Park, and the Apollo Theater, as well as landmark houses of worship and iconic restaurants, such as Red Rooster and Amy Ruth’s.
