A Celebration of the Life of Dalton’s Veteran Science Teacher and House Advisor Judy Slater Geller ’51

Close to 300 Dalton community members — including alumni from the Classes of 1945 - 2025, current and former faculty members, current parents, and parents of alumni — gathered virtually and in-person at Dalton’s Physical Education Center on Monday, April 15, to celebrate the life of veteran science teacher and House Advisor Judy Slater Geller ’51.
Dalton colleagues, students, advisees, a classmate, family, and friends of Judy provided heartfelt, inspiring reflections on her profound influence on their lives and her impact on Dalton: Head of School José M. De Jesús, daughters Debby Geller Cuneo ’82 and Susan Geller ’85, emcee and colleague Malcolm Fenton, life-long friend and classmate An-Shih Cheng ’51, Head of School Emerita Ellen C. Stein, longtime friend Judy Green, cousin and friend David Wise, students Linda Saxl Minton ’78, P’11 and Rachel Minton ’11, colleagues current and former Shahar Atary and Harry Lester, students and advisee (Rebecca) Wendy Foster ’81, P’22 and Rebecca Wasserman ’22, student and advisee Annabelle Eng ’23, colleague and co-House Advisor Teddy Frischling ’89, and longtime friend Carl Frischling P’82, ’86, ’89; GP’20, ’23, ’25, ’29. Student and advisee Mac Taback ’16 played Bach on his cello, providing a beautiful musical interlude, and granddaughter Ari Geller distributed the memorial cards.

Häagen-Dazs coffee ice cream and iced coffee, Judy’s favorites, were served at the reception.
