Record-Breaking Participants in the K-5 All-Girls Chess Friendly
Dalton continued its tradition with a successful K-5 All-Girls Chess Friendly, held at Big Dalton! Organized by the Chess Department, parent volunteers, Girls Chess Initiative, and Middle School liaisons, this annual event serves as a wonderful community-building experience, connecting aspiring First Program girls with accomplished middle and high school mentors.
This year, a record-breaking fifty-five enthusiastic young players participated. Each received a trophy from the parent coordinators and a mini eraser from the Girls Chess Initiative as a prize for their hard work. The day was filled with excitement, fostering connections, friendships, and a welcoming environment. Players competed in thirteen different level-based quads, ensuring a fun and inclusive experience for all skill levels.
